Week-2

Following the end of World War II, tension rose between the United States and the communist Soviet Union. This 'Cold War' led to an arms race and a space race, and shaped international conflicts such as the Korean War. In the United States, panic over the spread of communism influenced politics and culture. Despite the tensions and fears of the Cold War, the United States achieved a remarkable degree of prosperity and improved living standards during the 1950s.
